A Peek at the Week! October 10th

This week we will continue our story in our Journeys reading series from last week. I will continue to send the book buddy bag home nightly. Please return the book buddy bag daily. This week we will also attend mass on Thursday for The Living Rosary and the pep rally will be rescheduled.

Important Dates:

Wednesday, October 12th will be the last day to turn in Cow Chip Bingo tickets

Living Rosary is on Thursday, Oct. 13th at 1:45

Hurricane Make Up Day is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 17.

Harvest Festival is on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 5-8 p.m

Language Arts:

Journeys weekly story:  Jack and the Wolf

Spelling: Short a vowel sound

Words: an, bad,can, had, cat, ran, mat, sad, pan, pat

High Frequency Words/Sight Words:

away, every, call, hear, come, said

Math:  Lessons 30.2-34 

Lesson 30.2:  Written Assessment 5

Lesson 31:  Covering a design with pattern blocks

Lesson 32:  Ordering numbers to 20

Lesson 33: Writing number sentences for some, some more, some, some went away, creating subtraction problem solutions

Lesson 34: Counting backward from 10-1, adding 1 to a number

Religion:

We will  start Chapter 4 and will go to mass on Thursday for The Living Rosary

Science/Social Studies: We will continue our study on the Five Senses and learn about Christopher Columbus

Enrichment: 5 senses activities

Homework:

Homework packet will continue from last week. Please turn in on Friday!

Reading: Read your book in your book buddy bag. Complete Reading Log

Practice reading the weekly story: Jack and the Wolf

Spelling Words: practice writing your spelling words nightly and reading high frequency words

Reading/Spelling Homework needs to be returned every Friday.

Math: written practice is sent home nightly, except for days we complete an assessment. Please complete side B and return the next day.

Journey’s Reader Notebook: a spelling page will come home every Tuesday and Thursday

Reminders: Please return the book buddy bag nightly and return the Thursday folder back to school every Friday!
