Looking Ahead to the Week of December 12th

Important Dates and Information:

We are almost to Christmas break!!! 
December 15th- All School Mass for our Advent Celebration at 10:00 and Noon Dismissal

December 16th- Christmas Party at 10:30 and Noon Dismissal

January 6th- First Grade Parent Mass  at 8:15

Looking forward to a wonderful week!

 This week we will be reading the weekly story and introducing the skills in lesson 13.  We will not be testing for reading or spelling due to our noon dismissal on Thursday and Friday!
Language Arts: Journeys weekly story:  Seasons
Spelling: Digraph: sh,wh,ph       Grammar: Subjects and Verbs            Phonics: Digraph: ph, sh, wh and   contractions
Words: ship, shop, which, when, whip, fish, dash, rush, wish, cash
High Frequency Words/Sight Words: down, green, open, fall, grow, yellow, goes, new
Math:  Lessons 62-64

Lesson 62:  Compare and order objects by length, measure length using nonstandard units

Lesson 63:  Writing numbers 0-10 using words

Lesson 64:  Identifying pairs

Religion:

We will continue learning about Advent, Christmas Story Booklet and work in our religion books.

Science/Social Studies: We will continue our study on Christmas Around the World

Enrichment: We will be completing various Christmas themed projects and activities to go along with read alouds in class.

Homework:

Reading: Practice Reading Decodable Readers online. Unit 3 (stories: Phil’s New bat, In a Rush, Ralph Goes to Camp, Trish’s Gift)

Workbook pages will come home in the binder on Tuesday

Math: written practice is sent home nightly, except for days we complete an assessment. Please complete side B and return the next day.

December 5th- Field Trip to Sunrise Theater *  Students must wear their regular school uniform (no P.E clothes) and have a packed lunch

December 8th- Immaculate Conception Mass at 9:30
